A Review of Constitutive Modeling of Bonded Soil
Inter-particle bonds exist in both naturally and artificially cemented geomaterials. The bonds affect the mechanical response of the materials and make it differ from the remolded counterparts. In this paper, some recently proposed constitutive models for bonded soils are reviewed from the perspective of yield surface, flow rule and hardening law.The approach of phenomenological and thermomechanical modeling is discussed. The use of discrete element method to shed light on the modeling issue is explored.
