Removal of Nitrate Ions in Liquid Waste by Activated Carbon Fiber Electrodes

　　Nitrate-containing liquid waste has been tested through electrosorption on activated carbon fibers in a continuous flow-through cell.An effective nitrate removal is obtained by the application of a positive potential within a range of +0.6 to +l.2V (vs.Ag/AgCl) to the ACF electrode.Sorption of the nitrate ions may be enhanced by a modification of the ACF with Cu metal.
