Research Progress of Arsenic Removal from Water by Adsorption Technique Using Ferric or Titanic Adsorbents

Dangerous arsenic concentration in natural drinking waters is now a worldwide problem and arsenic contamination has been acknowledged as a ‘major public health issue. The removal of arsenic in drinking water by two type adsorbents i.e.ferrihydrite/iron hydroxide/iron oxides and titanium dioxide, was introduced in the present paper.Arsenites and arsenates adsorption behaviors in presence of vary adsorbents under different conditions were discussed.Adsorption kinetics, capacity and mechanisms of arsenic adsorption on vary adsorbents were discussed also.Nanometer materials and mixed oxides adsorbents show high efficiency for arsenic removal,so they would be the main arsenic removal materials in the future.
