Effect of Coal Fly Ash Addition on Sludge Properties in a Submerged Membrane Bioreactor Treating Municipal Wastewater
The influence of coal fly ash (CFA) on the activated sludge performance and membrane filtration resistance in a submerged membrane bioreactor was investigated.CFA in different dosage was added to the activated sludge and 30mins later, the sludge volume index (SVI),dehydrogenase activity (DHA) and the specific resistance of filtration (SRF) were examined.Soluble microbial products (SMP) and trans-membrane pressure (TMP) in submerged bioreactor (SMBR) filtration resistance were measured. The results indicated that CFA addition could effectively abate SVI and SRF,SMP.
