Effects on Two Trees Litter Decomposition from Subtropical in China by Stimulated Acid Rain
Litter decomposition plays a vital role in forest ecosystem, natural and artificial factors influence litter decomposition, maybe impact the forest ecosystem stability.Acid rain,an artificial factor,is more serious recently for the rapid expansion of industrial and agricultural activities in south China, include subtropical area.In this study, two common trees litter decomposition in subtropical area were selected as object. The effects of acid rain at different pH were evaluated by litterbag method in laboratory. The results showed that acid rain delayed litter decomposition for both two trees, the decomposition rate of pine needles at CK (pH7.0)was 22.89% at final of experiment,it was 106.8%,114.9%,120.9% compared with needles treated by acid rain at pH5.6,pH4.0 and pH2.5,respectively;,oak leaf decomposition rates was 43.5% at CK(pH7.0),it is 101.4%,129.5% and 130.6% compared with leaf treated by acid rain at pH5.6,pH4.0 and pH2.5,respectively.The k value of pine needles at CK is 0.537,it is 103.0%,117.4%,121.0% compared to slight (pH5.6),moderate(pH4.0),severe(pH2.5) acidity rain, respectively. For oak leaf, the k value at CK(pH7.0)is 1.4704,it is 102.9%,135.7% and 135.8% compared to treated by acid rain at pH5.6,pH4.0,pH2.5 respectively.Either decomposition rate or k value, they all obeyed the law of CK>pH5.6>pH4.0>pH2.5.The effects of acid rain on litter decomposition for both two trees were difference significantly at different pH,therefore, acid rain would impact the subtropical forest ecosystem.
