Isolation of Bacillus subtilis, PCBs-degrading Strain
A polychlorinated biphenyls-degrading bacterium was isolated from soil near the waste transformer. The strain, named as WFl,was able to use biphenyl as sole carbon source for growth. It was classified as Bacillus subtilis based on 16S rRNA sequence analysis. The effects temperature,pH,initial polychlorinated biphenyls concentration on polychlorinated biphenyls degradation ability of the strain were determined. The results showed that the optimal condition for enzyme production fermentation was that the temperature was 35 C,pH value 7.0,initial PCBs concentration of 0.2 mg/L,250 rnl flask for 3 d.Enzymatic optimal active temperature was 35 C,the optimal active was pH 7.5.
