Isolation and Characteristics of Three Strains for Malachite Green Dye Decoloring
Three bacteria strains, with strong decolorizing capability for malachite green, were isolated from activated sludge of printing and dyeing mill sewage treatment system, and named as strain MG-2,MG-6 and MG-7.They were identified as Enterobacter sp.and Escherichia sp.by its morphological characteristic and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. The results from the study on the decolorizing conditions of the three strains showed that the optimum pH for decolorizing was 7.0,and temperature was 30 C.Those three strains belong to salt-tolerant bacteria. The decolorizing under anoxic and anaerobic condition was better than aerobic condition.Under the optimal decolorizing conditions, the decolorizing rates of 60mg/L malachite green by those three strains were more than 94%.Strain MG-2 needs the shortest time for decolorizing, followed by strains MG-6,and MG-7.They can keep biological activity and effective decolorizing capability for a long time.
