Screening, Identification of a Bioflocculant-producing Bacterium of Klebsiella sp.
A bioflocculant-producing bacterium isolated from activated sludge,named B3,was identified as Klebsiella sp.by biomicroscope morphological observation,16S rDNA sequence identification and physiological and biochemical characteristics.The bioflocculant produced by B3 was named MBFB3.The most favorable medium component for bioflocculants producing were sucrose 16g/L,(NH4)2SO4 lg/L,K2HPO4 lg/L and initial pH about 8.0,respectively.The study of growth curve indicated the flocculating activity of MBFB3 could reach 96.65% on the optimum condition after 6h,which was greatly shorter than all the other reported strains required.In order to reduce the costs of MBFB3,the strain was cultured in various organic wastewaters from food production.The results indicated that strain B3 could rapidly grow and synthesize plenty of extra cellular flocculants under the condition of the approximately diluted brewery wastewater,dairy wastewater and flourmill wastewater without addition carbon and nitrogen source.
