Preliminarily Study on the Optimum Carbon and Nitrogen Sources and the Phosphorus-Solubilizing Mechanism of a Phosphorus-Solubilizing Bacterium
By means of the utilization of different carbon and nitrogen sources in the solid culture media and the interrelation of available phosphorus and pH value and total acidity in the liquid medium, the optimum carbon and nitrogen and the phosphorus-dissolving mechanism of a previously screened phosphorus-solubilizing bacterium from composting, were preliminarily studied. The results showed that the optimum carbon source was the glucose, the cellulose hardly utilized; the optimum nitrogen source was the peptone, the urea not used. The results of the liquid fermentation via calcium phosphate as the sole phosphorus source indicated that in the first 36 hours available phosphorus rose rapidly and then fluctuated; pH value kept a downward tendency, from 6.6 to 3.3; at the same time,in the previous 24 hours, total acidity soared, and then increased slowly. The correlation coefficients between available phosphorus and pH,between available phosphorus and total acidity were-0.9533 and 0.9698,respectively,very significant. Therefore it was some acid substances that had dissolved calcium phosphate and released the available phosphorus.
