Denitrifying Effect with Controlled-release Carbon-source Material for the PRB in Sand Column
The controlled-release carbon-source material GSP-BN was prepared with corn starch as carbon source(S) and polyvinyl alcohol(P) as vector,as well as modifying with boric acid(B) and sodium sulfate(N).The denitrification effect with GSP-BN for PRB(Permeable Reactive Barrier) active material in sand column was investigated in 57d.Nitrate-nitrogen removal rates are above 99.6%,92.3% and 84.8% respectively, when influent nitrate-nitrogen varied among 20rag/L,30mg/L and 40mg/L.It indicated nitrate-nitrogen was removed efficiently.Effluent nitrite-nitrogen and ammonia-nitrogen remained below 1.2mg/L and 2.3mg/L separately.Effluent TOC remained below 15mg/L between 8-57d,close to the influent TOC concentration.
