Quality Function Deployment (QFD) as a Tool to Fine-tune Technology Transfer
Transfer of technology is an important tool to improve waste management and waste disposal facilities in developing countries or transitional economies.Conditions to apply technology can vary from donor to recipient region,so that adaptation or changes of the technology must be employed to accomplish successful implementation.QFD as a tool of research and development projects have been introduced to match customer expectations to technical solutions in many industries.Only recently the first applications have been made to determine the possible introduction of bio-gas plants within the frame of sustainable energy development.Taking recourse on these experiences, the methodology is applied to judge and fine-tune technology adaptation prior to transfer of a waste incineration technology from a European back-ground to China.
