Research of Nutrient Distribution in the Reservoir Area
The trophic states were investigated in Three Gorges Reservoir.The results showed that the concentrations of nutrients and chlorophyll a were high,and the organic pollution and the transparence (SD) were low in the water body.The concentrations of total nitrogen (TN) range from 0.52mg/L to 5.94mg/L and those of total phosphorus (TP) range from 0.002mg/L to 0.598mg/L.COD ranged from 0.75mg/L to 9.3mg/L and SD ranged from 0.48m to 3.2m.Integrated nutrition state indices range from 25.4 to 74.5.The storage capacity of nutrients in the reservoirs was calculated.The stored TN,TP and COD were about 4733,206 and 10310t per year,respectively.In recent years,due to the eutrophication of water bodies,some lakes and reservoirs that serve as the sources for water supply have been heavily contaminated by water bloom in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in Chongqing segment.
