Shape Prior Extracted by 2D-PCA for Intensity-based Image Segmentation

  In order to address the shadow,shelter problems in image segmentation,a novel intensity-based model with shape prior constraint is proposed in this paper.Two dimemional principle component analysis (2D-PCA) approach and pre-image strategy are exploited to extract the shape prior.The obtained shape prior term is then incorporated into the intensity-based segmentation model to develop a new image segmentation algorithm.The airplane shapes are selected for segmentation to evaluate the performance of our proposed method.The experimental results show that the new segmentation approach is effective.
