A Primary Study on Methanotrophs Diversity in Zoige Wetland
In this study, the authors investigated methanotrophs diversity in Zoige Wetland using pmoA gene as a molecular marker. The primer set of A189-mb661 was chosen to amplify the functional gene which was approximately 500bp.The cloning library was constructed according to the pmoA detected. The phylogenetic tree showed that all the clones detected were affiliated to type Ⅰ methanotrophs.Three novel clades (ZC-1,ZC-2,ZC-3 and ZC-4) were found to relate to none of the methanotrophs previously reported. All members within the type I were related to only two known genera,Proteobacterium and Methylobacter.According to the results shown in figure,it is strongly suggested that further studies are needed to be done to make our results more persuasive and sufficient.
