The Characteristics of Rural Domestic Sewage and Treatment Options--Taking Four Rural Areas in North China as Examples

　　Four rural areas in north China were taken as examples in order to conduct the investigation on the characteristics of rural domestic sewage water and villagers environmental consciousness.The research indicated that domestic sewage production by different study areas ranged between 18.5 L/c·d to 36.6L/c·d,with an average of 25.6 L/c · d.Average concentrations of chemical oxygen demand (COD),total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) were 648 mg/L,25.9 mg/L and 3.82 mg/L,respectively.77％ of the villagers agreed to pay for wastewater treatment with an average per household willingness-to-pay (WTP) of 16.10 yuan/a.Based on the investigation and certain criterions,three different treatment technologies were selected,and discussed in this paper.
