The Retrieval Algorithm of the Sea Surface Salinity based on the Improved K-S Model in Hong Kong Waters
Establish the microwave-radiating retrieval algorithm of the sea surface salinity based on the improved K-S model in Hong Kong Waters.Referring to the radarsat-2 satellite image in target sea area, the simultaneously measured temperature and salinity, and other environmental data, the sea surface brightness temperature was calculated using the SAR scattering coefficient;then the sea surface temperature, which was obtained from the ordinary Kriging spatial interpolating matching algorithm,as well as the microwave-radiating parameters were put into the retrieval algorithm of the sea surface salinity based on K-S model;after the model was modified with the introduction of the sea surface coarseness factor, the sea surface salinity was eventually retrieved from the inversion of the K-S model and its improved model. The R2=0.8424,which measured the correlation between the retrieved sea surface salinity from the modified algorithm and the measured one, moreover RMSE=0.6509 which measured the error of the retrieval algorithm. Both of the values demonstrated that the modified algorithm could be used to extract the sea surface salinity more precisely. As a conclusion, the results indicated that the sea surface salinity was effectively extracted by means of the sea surface salinity retrieval algorithm based on the improved K-S model.
