Assessing the Impact of Sharp Shift from Drought to Flood on Vegetation Using Remote Sensing
This study examined the impact of rapid shift from drought to flood on vegetation using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and meteorological data, taking Jiangxi province as example. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI),Vegetation Condition Index (VCI) and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) were extracted to evaluate the spatial and temporal characteristics of meteorological extremes and vegetation condition. The results of the SPI and vegetation indices analysis revealed that vegetation growth was controlled by rainfall and vegetation indices could reflect the temporal and spatial variability of moisture conditions.
