Reliability Allocation Approach for Backbone Nodes of Underwater Cable Network

  Underwater cable network has limited opportunity for repair,because of the atrocious weather on the sea.It is necessary to use reasonable reliability allocation methods to assure this network will work well during expected years.Improvement of traditional AGREE (Advisory Group on Reliability of Electronic Equipment) method,which is suitable for this network,is proposed.The backbone nodes importance are calculated by betweenness and reliability of complex network is calculated by Monte Carlo method.This new method is applied to NEPTUNE to analyze the relationship between residual connectedness reliability and reliability allocation of backbone nodes,and suggestions for network improvement are proposed too.This result is useful for the construction of underwater cable network.
