A Performance Controllable PA linearization Scheme of Joint PAPR Reduction and Predistortion

  In this paper,we propose an optimization scheme combining peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction and predistortion to compensate for the nonlinear distortion from the nonlinear amplifier in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems.Specifically,we extend the linear range of power amplifier (PA) by predistortion and reduce the PAPR of OFDM signals by constrained clipping,which prevents signals from falling into saturated region of PA.Error vector magnitude (EVM) is used to evaluate our schemes performance and the value is controllable.Based on Rapp model,simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve the expected performance with 3dB reduction of PAPR,EVM controlled below 0.02,and 5dB reduction of bandwidth expansion.
