Adopting Different Switching Points in TD-LTE Heterogeneous Networks
The new applications, such as multimedia service and Machine to Machine (M2M) communication, will bring more asymmetric traffic to wireless communication network.Several types of uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configurations are offered in Time Division–Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE),which makes the scheme more efficient dealing with asymmetric traffic, but brings the cross-timeslot interference (CTI) problem if different configuration is adopted in the same network. In this paper, the possibility of adopting different configurations in the femto-macro based heterogeneous network is considered in order to take use of the system resource more efficiently. We analyzed the severity of CTI between the control channels of both macrocell and femtocell, proving it plausible to adopt different UL-DL switching points (SPs).A system level simulator is then set up to make further assessment on the data throughput performance of this new strategy, which,as the simulation results show,is not only possible, but also profitable.
