DSTCP:An Improved TCP to Increase Scalable TCPs Friendliness and Stability

Scalable TCP (STCP) has greatly improved TCPs effectiveness in fast long distance networks. However,it has been widely documented that STCP has serious problems such as instability and TCP-unfriendliness.This paper proposes a solution to increase STCPs stability and TCP-friendliness without reducing its effectiveness. The improved STCP can dynamically adjust its congestion control window updating rate according to the links congestion level,so we named it dynamic scalable TCP (DSTCP).Experimental results verify that DSTCP has improved a lot of the stability and TCP-friendliness of STCP,at the same time maintained the effectiveness in fast long distance networks.
