Monolithic amorphous silicon modules on polyimide substrate

  Roll to roll continuous fabrication and monolithic series connection are both advantages for flexible thin film silicon solar cell.However,no standard processes for monolithic interconnection on polymer substrate.In this paper,Flexible monolithically series-integrated a-Si thin film modules on polymer substrate was studied and fabricated.The importance of metal finger grids on ITO in flexible monolithic a-Si modules is discussed and calculated.Laser scribing of a-Si thin film solar cell on polyimide is discussed and optimized.Flexible monolithically series-integrated a-Si thin film modules on polymer substrate were designed and fabricated.Currently a roll-to-toll R&D pilot line is completed.On polyimide substrate,the back reflector Ag/ZnO is sputtered by roll-to-roll sputtering machine,the n-i-p a-Si is deposited by roll-to-roll PECVD machine,and the ITO layer is sputtered by roll-to-roll sputtering machine with a mask.At last,monolithic series integration is obtained by laser scribing and screen printing.
