Standards and Codes on Photovoltaic Testing in Thailand
Comparison of (photovoltaic) PV standards in Thailand and ASEAN member countries are made,covering solar modules,balance of system (BOS) and PV systems.In 2011 the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) announced the Thai version of IEC61215:2005 or TIS1843-2553.Technical facilities are set up to provide test services according to IEC standards.This paper provides an overview of PV standards in 6 ASEAN countries with detailed description on Thai national codes and activities and outputs of a test facility at national level funded by the Ministry of Energy at King Mongkuts University of Technology Thonburi.At present the facility can test PV modules,BOS and inverters of ratings up to 30 kW in laboratory and on site testing of grid connected inverters up to 1,000 kW according to the IEC61727:2004 and IEC62116:2008.
