　　Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) derived from primary tumors and shed into the bloodstream have been increasingly utilized as diagnostic and prognostic tools to facilitate early detection and treatment of cancer.CTC-based diagnostics have great potential to<br>　　I supple or obviate the needs of multiple,invasive tumor biopsies,where information obtained from CTC analyses followed a specific therapeutic treatment (such as chemotherapy) could reflect,in real-time,the course of disease progression.
