Improvement on package and fiber coupling of superconducting nanowire single photon detectors
The optical fiber coupling efficiency is one of the key factors in superconducting nanowire single photon detection (SNSPD) technology. The distance (gap) between SNSPD device and the optical fiber changes due to the thermal contraction during cooling down.In two different packaging methods,we can adjust the gap to a proper value. The gap value can be exactly calculated by measuring the dependence of the reflected light power on the wavelength of the input light.Based on the analysis of the package structure,we calculated the change of the gap caused by the temperature difference theoretically, which agrees well with the experimental results.
