The Function of CdSe/ZnS,CdTe/ZnTe Nanoparticles in Caco-2, MDCK and MDCK-MDR1 Cells

Aim: To investigate the function of CdSe/ZnS and CdTe/ZnTe nanoparticles through Caco-2,MDCK and MDCK-MDR1 cell monolayers. Methods: Using enterocyte-like Caco-2 cells as a small intestine epithelial model,Madin–Darby canine kidney (MDCK) and MDCK-MDR1 cell(overexpressed P-gp) as blood-brain barrier (BBB), permeability of CdSe/ZnS and CdTe/ZnTe quantum dot (QD) across monolayers based on these cells were quantified with fluorescence using a spectral scanning multimode reader (Varioskan Flash version 2.4.3,Thermo Scientific,America).P-gp was inhibited using Cyclosporin A.Toxicology of these nanoparticles was also studied by MTT.
