Development of Load-sensitive RCV Using Magneto-rheological Damper
In this paper,new type of load-sensitive haptic system using magneto-rheological damper (or simply “MR damper) was developed by characteristics of MR fluid.Generally,MR fluid shows the phenomenon that changes fluid viscosity and yield shear stress in accordance with the strength of the magnetic field applied.Working principle is that MR damper inner RCV (Remote Controlled Vehicle) decreases external force occurred by control of operators.Magnetic field significantly influences MR RCV behaviour characteristics and accurate design variables are obtained through field analysis.And practical design is suggested by evaluation of whole magnetic field distribution considering both the magnetic material and the MR fluid.Its performances are evaluated through the basic experiments of haptic system and mechanism.
