Phase Measurement at Discontinuity by Wavelet Transform Algorithm and Fringe Padding Technique
This paper presents a phase measurement method at discontinuity by wavelet transform algorithm and fringe padding technique.During fringe analysis,the existing transform-based phase calculation methods can not give correct phase data at discontinuity place because of frequency leakage problem.If the fringe patterns can be extended by fringe padding technique at discontinuity,the frequency leakage will be greatly reduced and even avoided.First,the location of discontinuity needs to be identified by using Wavelet transform and the fringe pattern be extended by fringe padding technique at the discontinuity position.Then,applying Wavelet transform to the padded fringe pattern segments obtains wrapped phase data.After the padded parts are removed,one wrapped phase map is obtained.Finally,in order to independently calculate the absolute phase pixel by pixel,the optimum three-fringe number selection method is used to obtain one absolute phase map.Simulated and experimental data demonstrate the validity of the proposed method to calculate phase information at discontinuity with greatly reduced phase error.
