A Wireless Acquisition System for Surface Bio-Electrical Signals
Surface bio-electrical signals contain useful information for disease diagnosis and human psychological activities. This study presented the use of wireless technologies as a possible alternative to the conventional wired setup for data acquisition of surface bio-electrical signals which include electrocardiogram (ECG),electroencephalogram (EEG) and electromyogram (EMG) signals.Surface bio-electrical signals collected by specific electrodes were amplified, filtered and sent to the A/D conversion circuit in msp430f149 microcontroller for analog-to-digital conversion.Processed signals transmitted by wireless transceiver module nRF24L01 were displayed and stored through the virtual instrument based on LabVIEW.The proposed wireless system presented a transmission frequency of 2.4 GHz,a largest sampling frequency of 1600Hz and a largest transmission rate for 115.2 kb/s,which can accomplish the acquisition of bioelectrical signals reliably and timely.
