Tracking Control of Hydraulic Actuator with Energy Saving using Independent Metering Valves
This paper presents the structure and dynamic of a new hydraulic boom cylinder circuit using independent metering valves combine with control variable displacement pump to saving energy. The IMV circuit uses the four proportional throttle valves to control the cylinder speed tracking to the reference speed of joystick, also the PID controller is used to control the supplied flow for boom cylinder to save pump consumption. The saving energy ability of new hydraulic circuit is already simulate and compared to conventional hydraulic by AMESim software.Besides that, these mode of independent metering valve circuit, especially Power Extension Mode and High Side Regeneration Extension Mode are compared together to prove saving energy. The optimization switching mode between PE and HSRE Model is proposed to select and control cylinder response when the reference speed and load input is changed. Moreover, the mathematical model already presented to model the dynamic of boom cylinder and all parameter of circuit get from the real system.
