Strength Check to the Resistance Welding Clamp Arm

  As an important welding method,resistance welding has been widely used in modern industrial production.Strength failure is one of essential elements affecting the welding clamp usability and safety.Therefore it is very meaningful to check the strength of the welding clamp.The traditional structural mechanics method can be used to check strength,but it can only solve some simple engineering problems and estimate certain complicated projects.With the broad application of computer and the fast development of CAE technology,the Finite Element Method (FEM) has become an effective numerical method.In order to get more exact results,firstly established a 3-D model of the welding clamp arm and used a numerical simulation method to analyse the strength.Then analysed the maximum stress and maximum deflection of the welding clamp working in the specific operating conditions.Finally,made a structure design on this issue.It turned out that the welding clamp structural reliability was enhanced and its accuracy was increased after improvement.The results have a certain value in engineering application and theoretical research,especially in improving the design level and working reliability of the welding clamp.
