Ecological Suitability Evaluation of Rosa Damascene Ⅲ in Sichuan Province and Benefit Analysis of Its Introduction into Xichang,China

The ecological suitability of Rosa damascene Ⅲ in Sichuan Province,China was assessed based on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and Geographic Information System (GIS) using relevant indexes such as average annual temperature, average annual rainfall, and soil pH.The weight of each index was calculated by integrating the subjective weight and the entropy weight. Results showed that Sichuan Province was divided into three regions, including suitable, subsuitable and nonsuitable regions for growing R.damascene III.This provided a scientific basis for introduction of R.damascene III into Sichuan Province.Accordingly,we selected one of the suitable regions – Xichang as the introduction test site.Together with excellent regional cultivation management conditions, the introduction of R.damascene Ⅲ gained substantial economic benefits, social benefits and ecological benefits.
