Corrosion and Protection of Underground Pipelines

　　With Chinas rapid development of the petrochemical industry and an improvement in city utilities (water,gas,and sewer services),underground pipelines are literally the lifeline of city. However,corrosion can cause perforations that will eventually lead to leakage accidents creating an Underground Pipeline Hazard or “time bomb when gas explosions or sewage leakage occur.Corrosion protection has been related to the pipeline reliability and service life,it also relates to peoples livelihood and security.This paper analyzes underground pipeline corrosion as a cause for potential harm and offers specific measures of protection.
