An Isolation Device Design of Buried Pipeline under Large Ground Displacement
The earthquake damage of buried pipelines can be classified as being either due to seismic wave propagation or large permanent ground deformation like fault landslides, liquefaction, etc.More typically, pipeline damage is due to the large permanent ground displacement. To resist the large displacement induced by fault motion or liquefaction,an isolation device is designed in this paper. On the basis of theoretical analysis and analytical simulation based on finite element analysis, the stress and deformation of buried pipeline under different large ground displacement are analyzed. The interface characteristics of pipe-soil system to seismic wave is also discussed herein. The isolation parameters affecting the seismic response of pipeline with ground displacement are discussed in details.
