Health Diagnosis Technology for Offshore Oil Pipeline-A Case Study
For long-term in-service offshore oil pipelines,health diagnostic technology is a significant task to be studied and resolved.Because the pipeline serves for a long term in bad marine environment and the damages caused by the same are invisible and special,there are many uncertain factors.Thus,it is very important to adopt a series of health diagnosis methods to protect the in-service offshore oil pipeline from damages.Combined with the practical situations of some in-service offshore oil pipeline in Philippines,analyses on chemical composites and mechanical properties have been made for pipe materials.With the utilization of PIT (Pipeline Inspection Tool) method from RTD Company,a global leader in non-destructive testing,the residual wall thickness has been measured and the residual strength of the pipeline also has been confirmed according to DNV-RP-F101.Predicting the remaining service life of offshore oil pipelines provides technical support for further project operations.The research on health diagnosis technology for in-service offshore pipelines is prospective and has significant importance for evaluation of pipeline.
