An Analysis of River Washout Influence and Protective Measures of Long-distance Gas&Oil Pipelines
As a common geological pipeline hazard,the river washout has great influence on long-distance gas & oil pipelines.Action mechanisms and threaten types of river washout are expounded upon in detail based on years of geological hazard investigation and washout protection in Zhongxian-Wuhan Gas Pipeline and Lanzhou-Zhengzhou-Changsha Oil Pipeline.Scouring and erosion as well as change in the river’s course are the main dynamic factors in river washout hazard.Floating,suspending,shoving and impacting are the four main types of threats in river washout.Some pertinent protective measures are presented on the principle of hazard mitigation.Concise structure charts and application conditions of those protective measures are also given.The latest results of performance evaluation for protection engineering shows that those protective measures have remarkable effect.
