Nano-structured Si2N2O-Sialon composite with excellent superplasticity
Fully-dense Si2N2O-Sialon composites,with an average grain size smaller than 80 nm,were prepared with nano-sized row powders by the conventional hot-press sintering technique.Tensile test at a record strain rate of 4.7 ×10-3 and a rather low temperature of 1550℃ showed an excellent elongation of 150 %.Superplastic extrusion at a temperature as low as 1550 ℃ and a high velocity of 0.5 mm/min was performed at a big extrusion ratio of 3.57.
