Numerical Calculation of Dual-vector Wide Field Electromagnetic Sounding Method
In this paper a new electromagnetic prospecting method that is named the Dual-Vector Wide Fields Electromagnetic Sounding Method for the controlled source frequency-domain sounding method is presented. The method is mode up of two parts, which are a grounded horizontal electrical dipole source that has a clear polarization direction and measuring one set of electric vector receiver. It simultaneously presents a new full-wave expression of the electrical field to calculate directly and accurately earth resistivity by using the electromagnetic fields from horizontal electric dipole of the homogeneous half-space.Through numerical calculation of several typical layered models, the new apparent resistivity easily calculated can satisfactorily eliminate the distortion effect of the near and transient area, because it can converge to a stable value at low frequency parts and can reach the true resistivity. It obviously indicates the changing features of conductivity of subsurface much better than conventional CSAMT does.
