Pixel Based Two-dimensional Forward Model Design Method
In this paper,we propose a pixel-based two-dimensional forward modeling method after discussing the commonly used geophysical modeling methods. In the novel method,we can use the approach like Windows-drawing-board to design a simple geological model or an arbitrarily complex hand-drawn geo-electrical model freely. The pixel-based two-dimensional modeling method can be divided into two steps: the first step is to draw a two-dimensional geo-electrical model and obtain the image of the model by using the drawing tools according to the users needs;the second step is to generate the data files by assigning physical parameters for each enclosed area according to the pixel color of enclosed areas in the image of the model. To verify the validity of the new modeling method,it is shown that two experiments for two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain forward modeling of ground penetrating radar on the complex geological models which are designed by the novel method. The results show that the proposed method is not only easy to use, efficient but also has good overall performance.
