Effect of Galanin on the Axonal Guidance Growth after Shear Stress in the Cultured Cortical Neurons
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is serious problems for health.Traffic accident and high shear stress induced head injury. But the certain mechanism is not clear yet. Here we investigated that the effect of galanin on the injured cortical neurons after shear stress. Our results showed that shear stress at 10 dyn/cm2 for 4 h induced marked neuronal injury, but galanin can regulate the mRNA level of RHO signal pathway and inhibit shear stress induced injury by RT-PCR assay. Our study suggested that the galanin may protect against injury through promoting axonal guidance growth after shear stress in TBI.
