Decision Making Process to Incorporate Medical Equipment in hospital:Clinical Engineering Perception

Decisions about medical equipment incorporation in hospitals are complex and they are a matter of increasing concern to decision makers. To guide these decisions, health technology assessment (HTA) could be use.HTA is a tool to support decision making that it is intended to assist healthcare managers in their strategic decisions. However the HTA dissemination and use is incipient mainly in local contexts such as hospitals.Front this situation, the clinical engineering that has worked with numerous actions to ensure quality for the technological process in health, could be in the forefront to propagate HTA in hospitals. Then, this paper presents the findings of a qualitative research about the decision making process to incorporate medical equipment in hospitals and the clinical engineering perception and others stakeholders about HTA.
