Expansion of the cross efficiency evaluation in DEA
In this talk, we propose two kinds of methods to rank DMUs(Decision Making Units) by applying global optimization techniques to DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis). In many standard DEA models, each DMU is evaluated only by advantageous weights for it. The cross efficiency evaluation is a method to evaluate DMUs by using the weights for all DMUs. Based on the cross efficiency, we propose two types of methods to evaluate DMUs by utilizing facets constructing the efficient frontier. The first computes the efficiency score that agrees with the existing cross efficiency evaluation. The second calculates the efficiency score of the object DMU by minimizing the sum of the efficiency scores of all DMUs except the object DMU.
