Applicatiopplication survey and analysis on EAD: as an Archival description metadata standard
EAD has developed for nearly 14 years since it was formally published in 1998.It meets the requirement to create electronic finding aids in the network environment. With its development, it becomes a new metadata standard for literacy information institutions to describe archives and manuscripts. EAD as a special application of metadata standard in the archival profession, it has been not only applied in America, but also applied in other countries. The paper firstly investigates and analyzes EAD application status; secondly clarifies administrative issues and technical issues in EAD application. Finally, we conclude that EAD is significant for sharing archival resources under the cloud computing environment.
