Application of three parameters interval finite element method to uncertainty analysis of spherical tank
For uncertainty analysis in engineering structures, a new finite element method based on three parameters interval is presented in this paper. First, considering the property of an uncertain parameter in a project, it can be used by defining coefficients of corresponding three parameters interval, which consists of large, small and special parameter. Next, specific methods for solving the three parameters interval finite element method (TPIFEM) are proposed. The special parameter results are solved by the deterministic finite element method. Then, the large and small one of three parameters interval are solved by the interval finite element method. Finally, a example shows the application of this method to a spherical tank in petrochemical plants.
