A study on welding technology and post-weld heat treatment of SA543 steel

Welding experiment is carried out to select suitable welding technology and post-weld heat treatment parameters. The result can used to repair welding the Ethylene oxide reactor which is made of SA543 steel. The SA543 steel weld joints with heat input about 27kJ/cm can get better impact properties. Post-weld heat treatment test shows that the tensile strength and impact performance of welded joints decrease after heat treatment. The results of weld repaired test indicate the performance of welded joints met the requirements after three times repaired.
