Research on interval failure assessment diagram of industrially pure titanium TA2
In present paper, interval theory is applied to research on the failure assessment diagram. The effect of the variable parameters on failure assessment curve was analyzed, such as material mechanical property parameters, defect dimensions, h factor, collapsed load and so on. The interval analysis of failure assessment curve based on EPRI method was realized, and the upper and lower failure assessment curves of four types of typical samples were obtained which established the interval failure assessment diagram (IFAD) of TA2. Compared with the general failure assessment curve in GB/T 19624-2004, it can be deduced that general assessment curve cant fully guarantee the safety of the defect assessment. Finally, based on IFAD and the defect assessment method of GB/T 19624-2004, defect assessment on a titanium pipe with a crack was carried out. The results show that present achievement can be used for the safety assessment of titanium pressure vessel with defect, and IFAD method is feasible and effective for defect assessment with uncertainty parameters.
