Damage factors and modeling for plastic film subjected to rolling contact fatigue used for full-open type greenhouse
The new full-open type greenhouse is a building in which plants are grown at all season. It is a structure consisting of plastic roof and walls. To control room temperature, the plastic roof open and close frequently and automatically, which leads to the fracture film in short periods. From the observation by microscope, it is found that thermal deformation, pressure and friction are three main factors causing the damage of the rolling area of plastic. In this study, FEM analysis is also performed to analyze at the maximum contact pressure between pipe and plastic film with varying the ambient temperature, dimensions of pipes and angle of the two pipes. It is found that ambient temperature and dimensions of pipe are the most important factors to maximum pressure stress.
