Pitting corrosion behavior of Q235B in various stress levels and salt spray environments

Low carbon steel Q235B was widely used in low or middle pressure equipments, which were not only withstanding the corrosive effect of the environment or medium, but also the high stress in service processes. In this paper, the corrosion behavior of Q235B steel under the action of various stress levels and non-stress was studied by acetic acid accelerated corrosion test. The results showed that serious pitting corrosion would appear in acetic acid salt spray environment, and the degree of pitting corrosion of samples with stress was more serious than the non-stress samples, which embodied the role of stress in accelerated corrosion.
