Numerical analysis of ultimate load for a marine riser containing corrosion defects
The ultimate load of marine riser containing corrosion defects was analyzed in this paper. Considering the nonlinearity of the material and geometric size, the curves of the ultimate load of pipeline with various sizes were obtained by using the non-linear calculation of finite element analysis. The results were compared with the international marine pipeline corrosion evaluation criteria DNV-RP-F101. It was proved the feasibility with finite element nonlinear analyzing the ultimate load of corrosion defects.
