Damage identification of pipeline structure based on curvature modal difference and genetic algorithm
Based on the modal theory, a new method for damage identification in pipeline is investigated, combining the curvature modal difference and genetic algorithm. According to the damage location of the pipeline which is obtained by analyzing the curvature modal difference, the genetic algorithm is proposed to identify the damage degree. In the genetic algorithm, the damage factor of damage element and the firstorder norm of curvature modal difference are respectively defined as the identification parameter and the objective function. By simulating the detection to the damage in pipeline, it is shown that this method can not only determine the pipeline damage location, but also quantify the damage degree. Moreover, the error of the result is within 1%.
